CONSULATE GENERAL OF INDIA HAS NOTICED THAT SOME APPLICANTS CONCEAL THEIR REAL PURPOSE OF VISIT IN THEIR VISA APPLICATIONS. THIS IS TO NOTIFY THAT IN CASES WHERE THE CONSULATE IS CONVINCED OF CONCEALMENT OF PURPOSE BY THE APPLICANTS, THEIR APPLICATIONS WILL BE REJECTED AND VISA REFUSED WITHOUT ANY NOTICE.

Starting 2nd August 2010, applicants applying for Indian Visa in Guangzhou must fill in the new Visa Application Forms.

Important Notice regarding BUSNIESS VISA

Companies applying for Business Visas for foreigners other than Chinese nationals should specify in the dispatch letter whether such employee has been resident in China for more than two years. Please indicate the exact date from which they are working in China.

In cases where the period of permanent residence of the applicant in China is less than two years, the applicants will be required to provide details of residence, either in their country of origin or any other country where they have been residing for more than two years before coming to China. They will be required to go for an interview at the Consulate General of India before submitting visa applications in the Visa Application Centre. Visas will be issued only after clearances are received by the Consulate from their country of origin or country of domicile prior to coming to China.

General Guidelines for issue of Conference Visa   

1.         Application for Conference Visas in r/o Chinese nationals should be submitted at least 06 weeks prior to the commencement of the conference.                                                     

2.         In case the applications are submitted less than 06 weeks prior to the commencement of the conference, applicant should submit a letter (original / fax copy only) addressed to the Consulate from the organizer stating that the personal particulars of the participant has been submitted by the organizer to MHA in the prescribed format 06 weeks prior to the commencement of the conference.  

3.         In addition, all requirements in Checklist for Conference Visa Applications   should be provided.     

4.         Participants from other countries should also provide ALL documents listed in Checklist for Conference Visa Applications.

5.         PARTICIPANTS FOR INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCES IN INDIA MAY NOTE THAT THEY SHOULD APPLY ONLY FOR CONFERENCE VISAS AND NOT FOR ANY OTHER CATEGORY OF VISA.

Notice Regarding Employment Visa Applications

Starting 13th OCT 2009, all applicants applying for work visa MUST get a letter from the Indian company to certify that the job the applicant is going that specific skill is not available in India.PLEASE NOTE: Without the submission of this letter the India Visa Application Center will NOT accept the Visa Application.

All Applicants going to work on project/contracts in India should apply for EMPLOYMENT VISA instead of BUSINESS VISA.

Consequent upon acceptance of Employment Visa application by the Consulate, the applicants should submit one set of their visa application with E.V. Ref. No. (to be provided by Consulate) to Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Foreigners Division, Jaisalmer House, 26, Man Singh Road, New Delhi through their Indian Representative or Indian company with whom they are going to work.

Introduction of “Tourist Visa-on-Arrival”

  1. To facilitate bonafide foreign tourists who plan their tours at a short notice, Government of India has decided to introduce “Tourist Visa-on-Arrival” for a period of one year for citizens of five countries viz. Finland, Japan, Luxembourg, New Zealand and Singapore on an experimental basis w.e.f. 1.1.2010. Tourists from the said countries can also procure their visas from the Missions / Posts in the normal course.

  2. The said “Tourist Visa-on-Arrival” with a maximum validity of 30 days with single entry facility shall be granted by the Immigration Officers at Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata airports to start with.

  3. The grant of a “Tourist Visa-on-Arrival” shall be regulated as per the guidelines prescribed in the Visa Manual.

NOTICE FOR TRAVELLERS TO INDIA

Foreign nationals entering India may please note that Thuraya Satphone service is not permitted in India. Anyone using any telegraphic devices including Satphone unauthorisedly violates Section 4 of Indian Telegraph Act, 1885 and he/she can be penalized u/s 20 & 21 of the said Act. In case such satellite phones without licence by the Department of Telecommunications, Government of India, are brought in their baggage/hand baggage, they would be detained/confiscated, as per the existing procedures, till the time the holder of the satellite phone is able to produce a licence issued by the Department of Telecommunications.

Welcome to the website of the India Visa Application Centre (IVAC) in Guangzhou

IVAC is officially authorized by the Consulate General of India (CGI) in Guangzhou to accept applications for all categories of visas, collect visa application fees and return passports to applicants holding ordinary/private passports only and residing in CGI's consular jurisdiction covering Guangdong, Fujian, Guangxi, Hainan, Hunan, Sichuan, and Yunnan Provinces.

In addition, IVAC will arrange time and date of interview, as required by the Consulate.

Please note there is NO change in the Indian immigration rules. All applications will be assessed and decided by the Visa office at the Consulate General of India in Guangzhou, in accordance with Indian immigration visa rules and guidelines.

All Foreign Nationals entering India are required to possess a valid international travel document in the form of a national passport or UN Laissez Faire with a Valid Visa obtained from an Indian Mission or Post abroad.
Nationals of Bhutan are, however, exempted from this requirement.

IVAC provides visa application support service only. Staff members of IVAC have no power or influence over the outcome of an application. The decision to issue or refuse a visa is made solely by CGI, Guangzhou.

IVAC staff will provide visa information, but cannot and will not offer immigration advice.

It remains our commitment to ensure the integrity of our visa process. Any applicant submitting false documentation or other information in support of their application may be refused a visa, and the matter maybe referred to the local authorities

All Applicants are requested to apply for only that category of visa which supports their actual purpose of travelling to India.
